What are Smart Mode and Protected Mode?

SyncSlide offers two processing options to fit your needs:

When should I use Protected Mode?

Use Protected Mode when you have:

Medical or healthcare content (HIPAA)
Legal documents or proceedings
Confidential business meetings
Personal or sensitive data
European user data (GDPR)
Government or regulated content

Is the output quality different between modes?

No! Both processing modes deliver identical high-quality results. The only differences are processing speed and infrastructure. Protected Mode uses advanced encrypted infrastructure that matches Smart Mode quality, while keeping your data completely private.

How much does Protected Mode cost?

Premium and Trial users: Protected Mode is included at no extra cost—same price as Smart Mode.

Free and Base plan users: Protected Mode costs 2x credits to cover our dedicated private servers.

For example, a 10-minute video with all features costs 40 credits in Smart Mode. In Protected Mode, it would cost 40 credits for Premium users or 80 credits for Free/Base users.

Credits & Billing

How do credits work?

Credits are based on video duration and the features you enable:

Base processing: 1 credit per minute

Voice-to-Text: 1 credit per minute

Screen Text Capture: 1 credit per minute

AI Transcript Polish: 1 credit per minute (cleans Voice-to-Text output)

Example: A 10-minute video with all features = 40 credits (10 base + 10 voice + 10 text capture + 10 polish)

Do credits expire?

Free Plan

30 credits at signup, then 30 credits/month. Credits reset monthly and don't roll over.

Pro Trial (3 days)

240 credits for 3 days. Credits expire after 3 days UNLESS you subscribe—then they roll over to your new plan.

Monthly Subscriptions

Unused credits roll over indefinitely while you're subscribed—no cap! Your accumulated credits never expire as long as your subscription is active.

Credit Packs (One-Time)

Never expire! Use them whenever you need, even years later.

Can I cancel my subscription?

Yes, you can cancel anytime from your billing dashboard. Your subscription will remain active until the end of your current billing period, and you'll keep any remaining credits. We don't offer refunds for partial months.

What happens if I run out of credits?

You won't be able to convert new videos until you purchase more credits or your subscription renews. You can always purchase a one-time credit pack for immediate access, or upgrade to a higher monthly plan.
